These are the blogs I read to stay informed about what happens in Hawaii (listed in alphabetical order). Some of those people Manuela and I met IRL (In Real Life). I took some excerpts of the websites (usually of the page “About” and quoted them here. At some day I will introduce some of those blogs and bloggers more in detail.

808Talk is NOW more than just a podcast, it’s a complete insiders guide to Hawaii. We feature and discuss events, culture, travel destinations, reviews, local news and serve up pretty much anything and everything that goes on in Hawaii or as we like to call it, “The 808 State.” We also introduce and feature music from independent artist from all genre’s in Hawaii or with ties to Hawaii to help perpetuate the growing talent throughout the islands.

Liza (that’s me) is the blogger behind A Maui Blog I am what they call a “Kama’aina”. I have been living on Maui since 1994 and consider Maui as my “home”. I am a 40 something mom who likes exploring Maui with my kids. I am married to a wonderful man we will call Haole Hubby. We have two tweens who we will call Hapa Boy (11 yr old) and Hapa Girl (10 yr old).

try my best to live sustainably and help others to do the same. I believe we can all do more to reduce our footprints on the Earth and leave it in better condition for our descendants. A native of Arkansas who transplanted to the Midwest, I now live in Hawaii with my wife and baby boy. My lifelong goal is to live and work in space as an astronaut. I was an applicant for NASA’s 2009 astronaut class and made it to the “Highly Qualified” stage (top 3-13%) before being cut during the selection process. I will try again when the opportunity arises again in a few years.
