Jake posted tips for the Haleakala Sunrise on the Hawaii Vacation Blog : Haleakala Sunrise
But Jake ain’t the only one who has a beautiful photo of a Haleakala (house of the sun) sunrise :-)

“I am Haleakala” - The National Parks of the Pacific Islands
We were at the Haleakala (“House of the Sun”) in May. These are some of the pictures we took at 3055 meters:
And yes: We also were at Oheo Gulch. We just drove the Road to Hana and didn’t stop there but proceeded to the Kipahulu area. Pictures will follow :-)
I took today’s Aloha Friday Photo on May 11, 2010. Each time we are on Maui we get up early on one morning to go for the sunrise at Haleakala (“House of the Sun”) at 10,023 feet (3,055 m). Every evening sun sets down and the day ends but every morning sun rises up and a new day begins. It’s like the motto of my German blog INEJELEA: “IN Jedem Ende Liegt Ein Anfang” which translates to something like “Every ending implies a beginning”.
Today is a very special day for me. Exactly five years ago, on July 9, 2005 I started blogging. Yesterday I migrated all 2073 articles to my new blog powered by Wordpress. Today is a new beginning.
