Aloha Friday Photo: Schwabenheim an der Selz
I know I’m late. Here in Germany and even in Hawaii now it’s already Saturday. But I already posted this picture on my German blog and I really like the series of Aloha Friday Photos on Go Visit Hawaii. I thought this would be a good idea to cross post pictures on my German blog and on this blog with pictures from Hawaii and from Germany/Europe so everybody can get some visual impressions from the other side of the globe.
This time it’s a picture of the village @manuela and I live in: Schwabenheim an der Selz. Selz is the name of the little creek here in our valley. Some centuries ago (approx. 700 A.C.) some people from another region in Germany settled here. They called themselves “Schwaben” and founded their new home (“Heim”) here. So this village is the home of the Schwaben at the Selz creek: Schwabenheim an der Selz.
