Eagle has landed

Finally we arrived in Honolulu, HI. We are in our room in “Ohana Honolulu Airport Hotel” and we are tired but happy.

Best of all the hotel has free internet access via ethernet in all rooms. It’s not very fast but it works. I called for the hotel shuttle in the airport baggage claim and the shuttle only needed some minutes to pick us up. The folks of Ohana Hotel are very kind.

In the plane (UA 77) I wondered about a tv ad: United advertised for their Twitter account (promotional ads, chat): Follow us @UnitedAirlines. I just saw another sign for superior social media acceptance in US in comparison to Europe:

I guess that US companies already accepted that social media is part of marketing mix and public relations. In Germany this has begun but many companies still think of social media as something “the others might use it but we don’t need it”.

Manuela and I are very tired. United flight UA77 was delayed two hrs so we have been awake now for 30 hours.

We will take a flight to Lihue on Kauai tomorrow morning so good night for now
